Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at libbydyerart@outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Libby paints from her studio in Huonville, Tasmania, and exhibits throughout Tasmania and interstate.

It is a fast drying, highly pigmented that is dissolved in alcohol rather than water. Alcohol ink works best on non-porous surfaces. Libby uses a synthetic paper called Yupo.

My work is inspired by the natural landscapes of Tasmania, especially the Huon Valley, as well as emotion, movement, and the unpredictability of nature. I’m drawn to organic flow, colour interaction, and the feeling of capturing something fleeting.

I love alcohol ink because it has a life of its own. It flows, blends, and reacts in unpredictable ways, which allows me to work intuitively rather than controlling every outcome. That sense of freedom and discovery is central to my practice.

My style is intuitive, fluid and expressive. I focus on movement, layering, and colour relationships rather than strict realism, aiming to evoke feeling rather than replicate a scene.

I begin without a fixed outcome in mind. I respond to the movement of the inks and build layers gradually, allowing the work to evolve organically until it feels resolved.

Yes. Every original artwork is created by Libby in her Huon Valley studio using intuitive techniques, primarily alcohol ink, along with mixed media where appropriate. Each original piece is unique.
